CRITICAL PLAY - Riverside’s Carly Jo Womack beats out the tag from Woodlawn’s Kathryn Dixon at third base in a critical play in the top of the fifth. Her slow-rolling liner into left gave her enough time to squeeze out a triple, eventually scoring the game’s only run on a passed ball with two out.

BASEball - All-State: Lawson Kidd (center), Noah Matheson (second from right); All-Conference: (left to right) James Lee Jacobs, Andrew Couture, Lawson Kidd, Noah Matheson and Ayden Laws. James Lee Jacobs was named 8-3A Conference Defensive Player of the Year while Noah Matheson had the lowest ERA of all pitchers in the 8-3A conference. Ayden Laws was named Offensive Player of the Year and Andrew Couture set a school record for hit by pitches with 21 for the season.

REEVES TAKES MEET OF CHAMPIONS - Rison sophomore Christrian Reeves cleared 6-feet, 6-inches to win the high jump at the 2025 Arkansas Meet of Champions held last week at Searcy. Reeves set a new Rison High School high jump record in the process. (Photo by Chris Vereen)

WELLS HOMERS IN FINAL AT-BAT - Woodlawn senior Peyton Wells (left) launches a homerun in what would be his final at-bat on his home field Saturday against the Parkers Chapel Trojans. The dinger added two more runs to give the Bears a 24-3 lead in the bottom of the third. Wells went 2-for-3 at the plate and had five RBIs. Fellow senior Tate Hall had a homerun in the first inning.
