WOODLAWN - Woodlawn will be hosting a Black/White scrimmage game with the junior high football team beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at the Carl Jones Sports Complex, Bears Coach Doug Means has announced.

The Cleveland County Bearcats 2K13 traveled to Panama City Beach for the 2025 USFA Panama City Beach World Series July 7th-12th. The Bearcats played in the 11U Open portion of the tournament. They went undefeated in bracket play and won the championship game 8-0 against Alabama Fury.

LITTLE ROCK - Noah Matheson of the Rison Wildcats has been named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's All Arkansas Preps Underclassmen Baseball team, earning him an invitation to the All Arkansas Preps Banquet to be held June 14 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
Woodlawn senior pitcher Lillie Faye McWhorter was named the 2025 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for Arkansas on Monday, recognizing her as the top high school softball player in the state regardless of classification. Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating each state’s best high school athletes in each sport for their success on the field, in the classroom and in the community. McWhorter will be playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks next season.
