LITTLE ROCK - Noah Matheson of the Rison Wildcats has been named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's All Arkansas Preps Underclassmen Baseball team, earning him an invitation to the All Arkansas Preps Banquet to be held June 14 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
Woodlawn senior pitcher Lillie Faye McWhorter was named the 2025 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for Arkansas on Monday, recognizing her as the top high school softball player in the state regardless of classification. Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating each state’s best high school athletes in each sport for their success on the field, in the classroom and in the community. McWhorter will be playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks next season.
