RISON - Rison junior Noah Matheson, a right-handed pitcher and middle infielder for the Wildcats, has been named to the Perfect Game WWBA Underclass World Championship All-Tournament Team, recognizing his standout performance at one of the nation's premier high school baseball showcases.

Woodlawn Finally Back Home; Face More Speed in Dermott

RISON - Woodlawn will be going into unfamiliar territory this week when the Bears host the Dermott Rams at the Carl Jones Sports Complex this Friday night.It may seem a bit unfamiliar because this will only be the second time this season the Bears have played at home.

HERMITAGE - Greyson Jones passed for three first-half touchdowns as the Woodlawn Junior Bears jumped out to a huge halftime lead before cruising to a 3212 victory over the Hermitage Junior Hermits last Friday afternoon at Hermitage.

Motivated Bears Hammer Hermits From Start to Finish, 70-20

HERMITAGE - Coming oft' a big win over the defending state champion Strong Bulldogs the week before, it would have been easy for the Woodlawn Bears to overlook their next South Conference, the Hermitage Hermits.It had all the earmarks of a trap game for the Bears.

Dumas Throws TD Pass as Time Expires; Wildcats Fall 40-34

DUMAS - The Rison Wildcats suffered a heartbreaking 40-34 loss to the Dumas Bobcats on the final play of the game Friday night, despite a strong start and a back-and-forth offensive battle that kept fans on edge until the last second.The game couldn’t have started better for Rison.

Jr. Cats Stop Conversions; Get Past Dumas, 16-14

RISON - The Rison Junior Wildcats relied on a strong running game Thursday night to edge the Dumas Junior Bobcats 16-12 at George Walker Field of Champions.After a scoreless first quarter, Rison struck first with a four-play, 25-yard drive capped by a 16-yard touchdown run from Payne Prescott.

Woodlawn Hands Strong Its First Loss Since 2022, 58-34

STRONG - Woodlawn scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter as the Bears overcame an eight-point deficit early in the third quarter to hand the defending state champion Strong Bulldogs their first on-field loss, 58-34, since 2022.
