Early Voting Begins For Millage Election

RISON - Early voting for the Cleveland County School District's proposed 6-mill tax increase to support construction of a new gym will begin next Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street in Rison.Early voting will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Transfer Station New Hours Begin Nov. 10

RISON - Updated hours have been announced at the Cleveland County Solid Waste Transfer Station on Hwy. 79 at Rison.Beginning, Nov. 10, the Transfer Station is open Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and on the first and third Saturdays of the month 7:30 a.m -12 p.m.

Republicans Announce Filing Fees

RISON - The Cleveland County Republican Committee announced the filing period for justice of the peace, constable and committee membership will begin at noon Monday, Nov. 3, and end at noon Wednesday, Nov. 12.The Republican Primary is scheduled on March 3, 2026, and the general election is Nov.

Pioneer Village Gives Tour To Shepherd Center

RISON - The Pioneer Village gave a tour and luncheon for the members of the Shepherd Center of Monticello, a community event for the over 50 crowd. The members enjoyed walking the grounds and reminiscing about their childhoods. Lunch was provided afterwards.
