RISON - Rison Junior High FBLA attended District 3 FBLA Competition on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Wednesday, Feb. 5.The club received second in largest club membership per market share and fourth in total largest club membership.

RISON - James Michael Haywood celebrated his first birthday Feb. 6.He requested supplies for an animal shelter as gifts and Rison Paws for a Cause is the recipient.He is the son of Kyle and Ellen Haywood of Fayetteville, and grandson of Terry and Melissa Haywood of Rison.

Local Students Named To ASU Honors Lists

JONESBORO – Students on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists for the fall 2024 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest grade-point averages while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours of study.

Bradley Declared Cleveland County Spelling Bee Champion

WOODLAWN - Elin Bradley, 8th grade student from Rison, was declared the Cleveland County Spelling Bee Champion Jan. 31. Woodlawn Schools hosted this year's county spelling bee which consisted of a total of ten spellers.

Retired Teachers Meeting March 4 at Sheridan

SHERIDAN - The Cleveland/ Dallas County Retired Teachers Association will meet Tuesday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Sheridan Methodist Church.All retired certified and classified school personnel are invited and encouraged to attend.
