USDA Commodities Postponed To Dec. 21 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, one week later than previously announced.Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month.

County Approves $7.1 Million Budget

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court formally approved a 2025 county budget of more than $7.1 million during its final regular monthly meeting of year on Monday night.

RISON - After reviewing the city’s finances, the Rison City Council approved Mayor Charles Roberts’ recommendation to give city employees a $600 pay raise for 2025.

KINGSLAND - Kingsland Mayor Sharon Crosby said the city will cracking down on dogs roaming city streets after a city employee was attacked and bitten by what she described as a “pack of dogs” this past Sunday afternoon.

NEW EDINBURG - Re-New-ing Edinburg is once again going all out for Christmas this year as volunteers worked last Wednesday (Nov. 27) to put up lights and Christmas decorations throughout the community. This is the 21st year that New Edinburg has decorated the town for the holidays.
