RUMC Choir Announces December Christmas Cantata

RISON - The Rison United Methodist Church Choir will host The First Noel Cantata Sunday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. at the church.An encore variation of the program will be performed Friday, Dec. 20 at the Rison Shine and Pioneer Village’s special Christmas Food Truck Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Cayce’s Charity Food Give Away Saturday in Thornton

Rison Approves Loans for Water Lines

RISON - The Rison City Council approved an ordinance securing two loans last week that will help the city salvage a $1.5 million grant to replace many of the oldest water lines in the city.Ordinance 2024-002 gave Mayor Charles Roberts permission to sign off on two loans: one a $450,595.

CCSB Votes To Move 2025 Election To Consider Options

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board voted Tuesday night to move its annual school election from May to November next year to give the district more time to consider its financial options regarding two projects that have been accepted into the state’s partnership funding program.

UAM Choirs To Perform Holiday Recital Sunday

MONTICELLO - The Chamber and Concert Choirs at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) will perform at the annual SEARK Concert Association’s concert, “How Sweet the Sound,” on Nov. 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center at UAM. Following the performance, guests are invited to a reception.

RISON - The Promised Land Hunting Club held its 20th annual youth hunt Saturday, November 2, 2024. Raylon Thompson received trophies for harvesting the largest doe and a hog. A devotional was presented by Raylon Thompson followed by a meal served to the hunters and guests.
