Rural Water Offers Petitions for Board

RISON - Any member of the Cleveland County Rural Public Water Authority who wishes to run for the board may come by the water office at 205 Pine Street during regular office hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to obtain a petition.

RISON - Any person that has heifer cattle ages 4 to 12 months and would like to have them Bangs vaccinated, please call the Cleveland County Extension Office at 870-325-6321.  Please provide the number of heifers to be vaccinated as well as directions to your farm.

Johnny Cash Day Celebrated at Capitol on 94th Birthday

LITTLE ROCK - On his birthday, the State Capitol Rotunda served as the setting to honor the life and legacy of Arkansas’s own Johnny Cash on what would have been his 94th birthday. Cash was born at the Cross Roads Community near Kingland to Ray and Carrie Rivers Cash on February 26, 1932.

RISON - The fourth annual Cruisin’ Cleveland County Bike Ride is set for Saturday, June 6 at the Pioneer Village at Rison.The ride includes various routes at 21, 29, 44 and 65 mile lengths, plus a revamped 30-mile gravel route.The ride begins at 7 a.m.

Kingsland To Renew Focus on Properties

KINGSLAND - Kingsland City Council member Linda Burns said she intends to take “the next step” in enforcing the city’s ordinance regarding unkempt properties in the city after progress on the clean-up of some of those targeted sites has slowed.
