2025 Tax Books Open for Payment

RISON - Cleveland County Tax Collector Patty Wilson has announced that the 2025 tax books are now open for those wanting to pay their 2025 real and personal property taxes. Payments can be made from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

First Purple Martins Spotted in County

The Herald has been notified of two sightings of purple martins in Cleveland County marking the arrival of the spring season.William Juckett spotted four martins Thursday evening, Feb. 19 on Hwy 189 N in Kingsland, noting they spent the night in the bird box at his house.

Bobby Terry Memorial Golf Tournament To Benefit Rison Booster Club

PINE BLUFF - The second annual Bobby Lee Terry Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, May 2 at the Harbor Oaks Golf Course in Pine Bluff. This year's tournament benefits the Rison Booster Club.The cost is $300 per team for a four-man scramble. Each player will receive a goodie bag.

RISON - Patrick “Pat” Berry of the Calmer community has been appointed by Gov. Sarah Sanders to complete the unexpired term of the late District 6 Justice of the Peace Owen Rushing, who passed away on Dec. 6, 2025.Berry, 78, will serve on the Cleveland County Quorum Court through Dec. 31, 2026.
