Cleveland County, Woodlawn Get Millions in Partnership Money

Body

The Cleveland County and Woodlawn School Districts will receive state partnership funding for major campus projects after other districts returned funds when their millage proposals failed. Cleveland County was awarded about $2.7 million for a new gym and $138,000 for a secure Rison Elementary entrance, while Woodlawn received nearly $1.3 million for a new career education center. Both districts already secured local millage increases, allowing them to accept the funds. Cleveland County will now move forward with gym planning and related elementary renovations, while Woodlawn will adjust its career center plans after state requirements changed, potentially building more space at its own expense.
