Triplett Appointed Cleveland County Judge

Body

The Cleveland County Quorum Court on Monday unanimously appointed former Justice of the Peace Don Triplett of New Edinburg to serve as county judge for the remainder of the year following the death of Judge Jimmy Dale Adair. Triplett, who served 16 years on the quorum court and has more than 40 years of construction experience, was chosen over candidates Kelly Slater and Rusty Leopard after an extended executive session. The vote was approved without opposition, and Triplett was sworn in by County Clerk Brandy Herring. He will serve through Dec. 31, 2026.
