Woodlawn Moves Forward With Career Education Building Project

Body

The Woodlawn School Board approved a conceptual $2.2 million budget for a new career education center, which will be supported by nearly $1.3 million in state partnership money and other sources.

The project will now move forward with detailed plans after staying within budget expectations. The board also updated the teacher salary schedule, adding step increases after long gaps caused by the state’s $50,000 minimum salary requirement.

Additionally, members approved $178,000 for new elementary playground equipment and nearly $99,000 in storm damage repairs. Officials reported progress toward wastewater compliance, accepted staff resignations and hires, and discussed future funding options for district projects.
