Body

The Cleveland County Republican Party has announced that its forum featuring the candidates for county judge and sheriff has been postponed to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, in the Family Life Center at Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church, 2230 Hwy. 35 North at Rison. The forum was originally scheduled for tomorrow night (Tuesday, Jan. 27) with a tentative make-up date of this Thursday, Jan. 29. However, due to possible road conditions lingering throughout the week, the Cleveland County Republican Party decided to postpone it until next week.

Both the county judge and sheriff races will be decided in the Republican Primary this since there are no other candidates filed for the November general election. The county judge candidates are Jim Houston of the Rye community, Stephen McClellan of New Edinburg, Rosemary Sinclair of the Staves community, and Rickey Spencer of Kingsland. The sheriff candidates are Vance “Lee” Freeman and Keden Shrum, both of Rison, and Brad Young of the Rowell community.
