FORDYCE - Jaci Hoyt scored 22 points and Preslee Mack buried five 3-pointers as the Woodlawn Lady Bears picked up a 40-34 road win over the Fordyce Ladybugs in 8-2A conference action Monday night at Fordyce.Hoyt made 6-of-7 free throw attempts in the second quarter alone as Woodlawn went into halftime down 17-16.That's when the Lady Bears started to heat up from outside as Hoyt and Mack both drained two 3's apiece in the third quarter to push Woodlawn in front, 30-25, by the start of the fourth quarter.Mack hit two more from long range in the final period as the Lady Bears held on for the win.Woodlawn followed that victory with a narrow 35-33 win over Parkers Chapel Tuesday nto improve to 11-10 overall and 7-4 in conference play.Details of the Parkers Chapel game were not available.As of Wednesday, Woodlawn was sitting in third place in the 82A standings, trailing second place Ouachita by one game and undefeated Poyen by four games.The Lady Bears were scheduled to play five times this week as teams scramble to make-up games that were postponed by the recent winter storm. Woodlawn will host highly-rated Poyen on Wednesday before traveling to Junction City on Friday and to Magnet Cove in key conference game Saturday....
