Lady Bears Go 2-1 at Jonesboro Tourney

JONESBORO -The Woodlawn Lady Bears went 2-1 at the Jonesboro Tournament this past Friday and Saturday, picking up 8-0 wins over Lincoln, and Obion County (Tenn.) with a 9-3 setback to Bauxite sandwiched in between. The Lady Bears had previously beaten Bauxite by 10 runs earlier this month.Woodlawn currently stands at 9-3 overall after the Jonesboro Tournament. Here is a recap of those games:Woodlawn 8, Lincoln 0Laci Rauls struck out 15 while holding the Lincoln Lady Wolves to just one hit as the Woodlawn Lady Bears opened the Jonesboro Tournament with an 8-0 shutout last Friday.After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Bears put up five runs in the second.Rauls got it started with a single, and one out later, Kaylee Misho had a hit to put two aboard. Paisly Scharf  followed with a sacrifice fly that scored Rauls’ courtesy runner, Erin Vinson, and then Anniston Wright delivered a hit to drive in Misho.  Maeley Simmons, Jaci Hoyt and Kendall Tooke followed with three consecutive singles to tack on three more runs to make it 5-0.Rauls and Addison Holland started the third with back-to-back hits before the next two Lady Bears went down on strikes. Wright then drove in both base runners with a double and Simmons  followed with a single to bring in one more to make it 8-0.The game ended after Lincoln batted in the top of the fifth due to the tournament format.Woodlawn had 10 hits against the Lady Wolves. Rauls, Wright and Simmons all had two apiece.
