RISON - Noah Matheson, a junior righthand pitcher for Rison High School, set a new school record with 17 strikeouts in the Wildcats’ 3-2 win over the McGehee Owls last week.Stan Sadler, Rison High School athletics historian, said he believes Matheson broke the previous single-game strikeout record set by Zack Clement with 16 against Smackover in a 2000 regional tournament game.Matheson pitched a complete game in the win over McGehee, giving up one hit and three walks to go with his 17 strikeouts over seven innings.The 17 strikeouts also marked a career single-game high for Matheson, who is now just 15 strikeouts away from reaching 200 for his career....
