LITTLE ROCK - Local residents will have an opportunity to pick up some free bare root tree seedlings during the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s “Free Tree Friday” to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Pioneer Village, 200 Yaney Street in Rison. Species will vary based on location, but will include a variety of the following species, donated to the campaign by the Arkansas Urban Forestry Council: cherrybark oak, eastern redbud, persimmon, red mulberry, and Shumard oak. Additional seedlings may be purchased in larger quantities from Baucum Nursery.The program is being presented by the UA Department of Agriculture and the Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Service office....
