Green House Cottages Taking Donations for Fireworks Show

The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills nursing home at Rison is accepting donations to help put on a Fourth of July fireworks show for residents and the community as America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary.

While the fundraising effort will begin in earnest on June 1, Crystal Freeman of Southern Hills said anyone wishing to contribute can drop off donations through the front office located at 701 Main Street in Rison across from the Rison Head Start building.

Meanwhile, the Pioneer Village will be hosting a Family Fun Festival in advance of the fireworks show starting at 7 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, watermelon and ice cream as well as lemonade and water.
