The Jake's Day squirrel and coon hunts will take place this Saturday, Jan. 17 at the "Y" Community Center on Hwy. 35 North.Squirrel hunt will run from daylight to 11 a.m. and coon hunt will run from dark to midnight.Each team consists of one hunting dog. If more than one dog is used, the total number of squirrels/coons is divided by the number of dogs used. Each team must be registered by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16.Call (870) 329-1034 to register. On a piece of paper, write the following: Team name, number of dogs, number of members, total money amount. Payment will be accepted by mail or dropped off check. Checks need to be made out to the following: Cleveland County NWTF, mailed to Oscar Gerard III, 2700 Highway 35 North, Rison, AR 71665.The cost is $40 per team. For every team member of five, there is an additional $10.A chili lunch will be served. The cost is $10 per plate. If you hunted, the meal is included. ...
