Cleveland County Cares  would like to thank every individual and business that contributed to the Care Fund’s Christmas efforts this past December.Because of the support of those listed below, we were able to provide Christmas to around 85 kids, our largest Christmas giving yet.

Rison Junior FBLA Competes at District

RISON - Rison Junior High FBLA attended District 3 FBLA Competition on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Wednesday, Feb. 5.The club received second in largest club membership per market share and fourth in total largest club membership.

First Birthday Request for Local Animal Shelter

RISON - James Michael Haywood celebrated his first birthday Feb. 6.He requested supplies for an animal shelter as gifts and Rison Paws for a Cause is the recipient.He is the son of Kyle and Ellen Haywood of Fayetteville, and grandson of Terry and Melissa Haywood of Rison.

Local Students Named To ASU Honors Lists

JONESBORO – Students on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists for the fall 2024 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest grade-point averages while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours of study.

Bradley Declared Cleveland County Spelling Bee Champion

WOODLAWN - Elin Bradley, 8th grade student from Rison, was declared the Cleveland County Spelling Bee Champion Jan. 31. Woodlawn Schools hosted this year's county spelling bee which consisted of a total of ten spellers.

Woodlawn Sports Complex Comm. Meeting Feb. 20

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Sports Complex will host a Community Meeting Thursday Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Woodlawn Community Center. All community members are welcome.

Presidents Day Holiday is Monday

RISON - The Cleveland County Courthouse as well as state and federal government offices and the U.S. Post Office will be closed this Monday, Feb. 17, in observance of he Presidents Day holiday.
