Johnson Named 3A All State Cheerleader

RISON - Cayla Johnson received post-season honors announced by the Arkansas Activities Association in cheerleading.  She has been named as 3A All State in Cheerleading.

Cattleman’s Association Meeting Feb. 27

RISON - The Cleveland County Cattleman’s Association will meet Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.  at the Fairgrounds Meeting Room.  Speakers will be Dr. Bronc Finch, Soils Extension Specialist with a topic on the importance of soil Ph and correction strategies.

Rison Elementary Parent, Teacher Conference Feb. 6

RISON - Parent Teacher Conferences will be held at Rison Elementary Thursday, Feb. 6 from 3 until 7 p.m. School will dismissed at 1:50 p.m. and buses will run at 2 p.m. 

Kindergarten Registration Feb. 6 at Rison Elementary

RISON - Kindergarten registration at Rison Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year will be held Thursday, Feb. 6 in the Elementary Auditorium from 3 to 7 p.m. Even if your child is enrolled in Cleveland County Headstart, you still need to register your child at the elementary.

Vehicle Fire at Rison Monday

RISON - The Rison Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at the Tolson Apartments, 500 Rice Street, at about 3:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and there were no injuries reported.

MAGNOLIA - Molly Elizabeth Freeman earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall 2024 semester, securing a reputable position on Southern Arkansas University's President's List. By earning a 3.

MAGNOLIA - Southern Arkansas University has announced that 650 students earned a 3.5 GPA or higher for the fall 2024 semester and have been named to its Dean's List.Demetrios Guzman is a junior Engineering major from Kingsland, AR.Arabella Matthews is a sophomore Studio Art major from Kingsland, AR.

UAM Announces Dean, Chancellor’s Lists for Fall 2024

MONTICELLO - The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) named 349 students to the Dean’s List and 240 students to the Chancellor's List for the fall 2024 semester, according to Keith Chambliss, UAM’s registrar. Selection to the Dean's List requires a student to earn a grade point average of 3.
