Walk to Honor Arkansas Cancer Patients May 3 in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK - The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences will host a "Be A Part of The Cure Walk" Saturday, May 3 in Little Rock.The walk to honor all Arkansas cancer patients will begin at 8 a.m. at War Memorial Stadium and Outdoor Course.

Toys for Tots to Provide Books to Local Libraries

The local Toys for Tots Literacy Program has begun providing books to local libraries to help support literacy in our area. “We already have requests for over 1,000 books from our local libraries to be provided to summer reading participants,” Matthew Yarnell, Toys for Tots Coordinator, indicated.
The Rison High School Student of the Month for January for grades 7-9 is Maddie Shirey. Maddie is a freshman and is the daughter of Jeremy and Jessica Shirey. She is a member of the Sr. Beta Club and has cheered for two years for the Rison Junior High School Wildcats. Maddie is also an honor student.

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn student Annie Davidson's artwork has been accepted into the 2025 Governor’s Young Artist Competition and Exhibit, hosted by the Governor and First Gentleman, at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. There will be an awards reception in May.
