KINGSLAND - Kingsland Mayor Sharon Crosby is serving her last day as mayor today (Tuesday, Dec. 31) after the Kingsland City Council reluctantly accepted her letter of resignation during its regular monthly meeting on Dec. 19.

Hop on Pop Blood Drive, Rison Shine BBQ Set for Jan. 7

RISON - The Hop on Pop Memorial Blood Drive will host a drive in Rison Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rison Baptist Church, organizer Stacy Walz has announced.The drive is held through Our Blood Institute. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged by visiting obi.

Couple Donates Gift Bags To Cleveland County Cares

RISON - Local youth receiving Christmas presents through Cleveland County Cares will be getting an extra gift bag this year thanks to a local couple who decided to donate them to the fund after they were unable to give them away to students at Rison Elementary last week.
