Kingsland To Hold Christmas Event Thursday Evening

KINGSLAND - The Busy Bee Extension Homemakers Club (EHC) at Kingsland will be sponsoring a Kingsland Community Christmas Gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Kingsland City Hall.Festivities include the singing of Christmas carols, a reading of the Christmas story, and refreshments.

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development is seeking floats for its annual Cleveland County Christmas Parade set for Thursday, Dec. 12 in downtown Rison, beginning at 7 p.m.Following the success of last year’s parade with over 40 participants, organizers are looking to recapture that magic.

RISON - More than 1,400 C&L Electric Cooperative customers in mostly eastern Cleveland County experienced a temporary power outage last week on Thanksgiving morning.C&L Electric announced that 1,427 out of 4,878 tracked meters (29.25 percent) were without power in areas mostly along and around Hwy.

After being displayed for a year at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, and then the past few years at the Johnny Cash boyhood in Dyess, Ark., the suit is now home in its permanent.

RISON - After being exhibited at venues as far away as Ohio, the suit that American music icon and Cleveland County native Johnny Cash wore during his 1976 Bicentennial concert at the Rison High School football field is back home - and perhaps permanently.
