The Rison High School Student of the Month for November for grades 7-9 is Brody Howard. Brody is in 8th grade and is the son of Kelsey Lephiew, Robert Lephiew, Tony Howard, and Marcie Howard. Brody’s activities include baseball, hunting, fishing, going to church, and spending time with family.

4-H Outdoor Skills Club

RISON - Members of the 4-H Outdoor Skills Club take target practice during their meeting last Thursday at the Pioneer Village in Rison.  In this class, club members went over gun safety and learned the firing line commands that will be part of the statewide 4-H Outdoor Skills competition next year.

Small Ruminant Workshop Set For Dec. 13 at Sheridan

SHERIDAN - The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service and the Arkansas Goat Producers Association will be hosting the South-Central Arkansas Small Ruminant Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 13, at the Grant County Fairgrounds, 4548 Hwy. 167 in Sheridan.

Pioneer Village Holiday Lights Open This Weekend

RISON - The Pioneer Village at Rison will open its annual holiday drive-thru light display this Thursday, Dec. 12 following the Christmas Parade from 7:30 to 9 p.m.The lights will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on specific dates: Friday, Dec. 13; Saturday, Dec. 14; Friday, Dec. 20; and Saturday, Dec. 21.
