Kingsland To Form Planning Commission

KINGSLAND - The City of Kingsland could soon see the formation of a new Planning and Zoning Commission after five people volunteered to serve on such a committee during the Kingsland City Council meeting last Thursday.

Johnny Cash Statue Unveiled During Event at U.S. Capitol

RISON - Cleveland County native Johnny Cash become the first musician to ever be honored in National Statuary Hall with the unveiling of his statue in the U.S. Capitol complex in Washington D.C. on Tuesday.

CCSD Delivers Report to Public

Rodeo This Weekend at Fairgrounds Arena

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair Association will host a rodeo this Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Fairgrounds Arena.The rodeo will begin at 8 p.m. nightly, with books opening at 6:30 p.m.Average buckles will be awarded, as well as $4,500 in added prize money.

Wesley Chapel Reunion Oct. 6

RISON - Wesley Chapel Cemetery Association Reunion will be held Oct. 6 at Wesley Chapel Church. The meal starts at 12:30 p.m.Please bring tables and chairs for eating. Annual business meeting will follow the meal. Discussions will include saving the church building.

CALMER - Center Missionary Baptist Church will hold open its Food Pantry this Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 to 10 a.m. 

First Baptist Will Host Sister-to-Sister Sunday Afternoon

Rison Methodist Food Pantry Saturday

RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28.  The church holds its food pantry the fourth Saturday of each month.

Toys for Tots Accepting Donations for Local Counties
