Woodlawn Bears Plan Black-White Basketball Game

WOODLAWN - Players for all four Woodlawn High School basketball teams will be introduced before tipoff of the varsity boys Black-White game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, the Woodlawn School gym. Admission is $3.

Rison Gifted/Talented Students To Host Veterans Program Nov. 9

RISON - Rison Gifted and Talented students cordially invite local veterans, their families and community members to the 2023 Veterans Program. This year's program, America, The Lighthouse, will be Thursday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. at the George Walker Field of Champions stadium.

WOODLAWN - A bridal shower, honoring Kristen Reynolds Elliott, daughter of Larry and Susan Reynolds, of the Woodlawn Community, will be held Sunday, Nov. 5, from 2-4 p.m. at Center Missionary Baptist Church. Kristen and Nate were recently wed in a private ceremony in Estes Park, Colorado.

Jr. 'Cats Romp Past Barton; End Season With 6-2 Record

BARTON - Rison assumed a three-touchdown lead before Barton had its first offensive snap of the game, as the Junior Wildcats romped to a 46-16 victory over the Junior Bears in a 63A Conference meeting at Frank McClellan Field Thursday night of last week.
