Veterans' Names Still Being Collected For New Plaque

RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association has announced that it has extended its submission period for collecting names of veterans for a new plaque that will be placed at Veterans Park in Rison.

Foster Grandparent Program Needs Volunteers at Rison

RISON - Classroom Grandparents are needed at Rison Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. The Southeast Arkansas Education Cooperative has received a federal grant to expand the Foster Grandparent Program to Cleveland County.

Rison Farmers Market Now Taking Online Vendor Registrations

RISON - The Rison Farmers Market is taking vendor registrations for the 2023 season set to open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at FBT Community Park in downtown Rison. The market is scheduled to open each Thursday during the market season.

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6. Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month. The pantry is an equal opportunity distributor.

Lady 'Cat Relay Teams Shine at District Meet

RISON - The Rison Lady Wildcats finished third in the Class 2A Region 8 District Track Meet held last Wednesday, April 26, at Gurdon. Host Gurdon won the meet followed by Fordyce and Rison.
