Food Truck Friday Canceled, Will Resume May 2 at Village

RISON - The opening of this year’s Food Truck Friday series has been pushed back a month due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.The event will now return to the Pioneer Village, Friday, May 2 from 4 to 7 p.m.

May 17 BBQ Will Support Scholarship for Weems, Sturgis

RISON - The Busy Bees Extension Homemakers Club at Kingsland is holding a barbeque fundraiser May 17 to start a scholarship fund in memory of Callie Weems and Roy Sturgis, two Kingsland residents who were victims of the Fordyce mass shooting.

Rison FFA Auction, Burgers April 24

RISON - Rison High School FFA is hosting an Auction and Burger Dinner Thursday, April 24 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Food starts at 5 p.m. as well as the silent auction. The live auction will begin at 6 p.m. and the silent auction will close at 6 p.m.

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 7370 Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, April 19 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

USDA Commodities To Be Distributed April 12 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12.Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month.
