The Woodlawn Bears will host the Strong Bulldogs at 7 p.m. tonight in a pivotal South Conference matchup at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. The junior high teams will play at 5 p.m. Both teams are 2-0 in conference play, with the Bears at 3-2 overall and Strong at 2-1. Woodlawn defeated the Bulldogs 58-34 last season to claim the conference title. The Bears enter Friday’s game following consecutive blowout wins, fueled by Griffin Manes’ 525 rushing yards over the past two games. Quarterback Ethan Saeler is also regaining form after returning from offseason surgery. Coach Doug Means emphasized tackling, avoiding turnovers and controlling the clock as keys to victory.
