10  YEARS  AGOOCTOBER  15,  2014All Cleveland County flu clinics have been postponed due to a delay in shipment from the flu vaccine's distributor. The postponement includes all four clinics that were scheduled for Cleveland County.The 25th anniversary of Rison in the Fall will be held this Saturday at Pioneer Village here. The festival's two main events include the annual barbecue cook-off, once again featuring a $1,000 grand prize, and the Rison in the Fall Car Show.Jordan Wylie was crowned homecoming queen at Woodlawn High School last Friday, when the Bears dropped a 22-8 decision to Class 2A's second ranked Bearden. Meanwhile at Rison, the Wildcats blasted the outmanned Hampton Bulldogs, 42-0. Both games ended at the half, as severe weather moved across the state.On November 4, voters across Arkansas will determine the outcome of three issues that were proposed by the state legislature during the General Assembly earlier this year.County Treasurer Jack Hopson is reminding county residents that the deadline for paying their final solid waste bills is Monday. Any payments received after the due date are subject to penalties. This will be the final quarterly trash bills that county residents will be receiving since the new 2-percent sales tax, which went into effect October 1, will be eliminating the need for those bills in the future.
