WBU ‘The Cast’ To Perform Sunday At Rison Baptist

RISON - Rison Baptist Church will host “The Cast” this Sunday, Feb. 2 for a special production at 5 p.m.“Near the Cross” is the theme as “The Cast” drama team embarks on its 2025 spring touring schedule. The Cast, which is the creative ministry team of Williams Baptist University, takes the stage with a message of power and comfort to be found in the cross."Near the Cross is a beautiful hymn that many of us grew up singing,’" says Melinda Williams, who leads WBU’s theatre department. “This year, The Cast is performing a series of sketches that demonstrate the peace, comfort and strength that are found ‘near the cross.’ Those blessings are ours because of what Christ did for us on the cross.”Williams and Brett Cooper, who serves as WBU’s vice president for creative services, are co-directors of The Cast.WBU is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge....
