May 17 BBQ Will Support Scholarship for Weems, Sturgis

RISON - The Busy Bees Extension Homemakers Club at Kingsland is holding a barbeque fundraiser May 17 to start a scholarship fund in memory of Callie Weems and Roy Sturgis, two Kingsland residents who were victims of the Fordyce mass shooting.The club will be selling barbeque pork with baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, roll, dessert and water. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. tyo 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison.The price is $10 for ages 13 and up, and $5 for ages 6 to 12.
