Historical Society Announces New Officers, Board

RISON - The Cleveland County Historical Society elected new officers for 2025-2026: President Wayne Cash; First Vice President and Publicity Chair Suzi Parker; Second Vice President and Chair of Special Projects Karen Bell Fox; Recording Secretary Hilda Terry; Treasurer and Corresponding Secretary Annette Rawls; Historian Stan Sadler.Standing committees are Scrapbook - Lolitia Terry; Web Page - Wayne Cash; Pioneer Village Contacts - Malinda Berry, Sharon Gray, and Marty Bowlin; Cemeteries - Lynn Wooley, Edgar Colvin, and Andrew Roshell.The Board of Directors include James Langford, Wayne Cash, Vesta and John Lowe, Teresa and Danny Thomas, Annette Rawls and Stan Sadler. The group discussed the upcoming 250th Birthday Celebration for the United States in 2026.  They passed a resolution to work with City and County officials and other organizations  in planning events for the Cleveland County celebration.  The next regularly scheduled meeting will be Wednesday, August 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cleveland County Library. ...
