RISON - The Cleveland County Historical Society will meet at 1:30 Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Cleveland County Library in Rison. The guest speaker will be Dr. David Ware, State Historian and director of the Arkansas State Archives, which is an agency of Arkansas Heritage. Dr. Ware also serves on the Arkansas 250 Commission that was established by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders to coordinate Arkansas’s participation in the U.S. celebration of the 250th anniversary of its independence in 2026.The meeting is also open to the public....
