10 YEARS AGO DECEMBER 30, 2015 Cleveland County Sheriff Jack Rodgers said he anticipates one more possible arrest in connection with the recent murder of Cherrish Faith Allbright of the Randall community in the northern part of the county. Two men from the Randall area, Jonathan Guenther and Brad Hunter Smith, have been arrested for their alleged involvement with Allbright's death and are being held in the county jail here.Despite two tornado warnings issued for Cleveland County Sunday evening, December 27, county judge Gary Spears said a survey of the path of the storm area revealed no wind damage.Mayor Charles Crain informed the Kingsland City Council last week that the $250 'Christmas bonus' which the council had approved for city employees and council members during the November meeting was illegal, due to the 2-1 vote not meeting the 3/4ths threshold required by law regarding an appropriation of city money. As a result, the mayor informed the council and the city workers that the city would not be issuing the extra money to anyone this year.During a meeting on the Cleveland County School District's School Facilities Master Plan, board member Stan Sadler continued to bring up the need for improvements, including construction of some new academic facilities as well as a new gymnasium.
