Lady Wildcats Split Last Two Games on Late Runs

RISON - DeWitt had a three run homerun in the top of the sixth and then added another run off a wild pitch in the seventh as the Lady Dragons beat the Rison Lady Wildcats, 4-0, in an 8-3A conference game Tuesday afternoon at Lady Wildcat Field.Both teams struggled to get much going at the plate as Rison finished with two hits and DeWitt with three. Both teams had three walks apiece.The game was scoreless going into the sixth when a walk and an error put two Lady Dragons on, and Harley Grammer stroked her three-run shot to center.Rison put two runners aboard in the third, and the had the lead-off batter reach in the fourth but the Lady ‘Cats could never get a run across.Railyn Smith started for Rison and pitched six-and-two-thirds innings giving up three hits and three walks with one strikeout. Rhagen Price got the final two outs for Rison.Mackenzie King had both of the Lady Wildcats’ hits.Rison fell to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in league play with the loss. Rison 11, Parkers Chapel 10RISON - Jazlyn Price had a dramatic two-run inside-the-park homerun in the bottom of the seventh as the Rison Lady Wildcats rallied late to clip the Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans, 11-10, in non-conference action Monday afternoon at Lady Wildcat Field.The game took some wild swings with Parkers Chapel building an early four-run lead before Rison come back to go up by two runs only to see the Lady Trojans regain the lead late.Parkers Chapel scored a run in the first and added three more in the second off two walks and two singles for a quick 4-0 lead.Rison battled back with four runs in the bottom of the second off singles by Haven Simpson, Claire Socia, Allie Bennett and Jazlyn Price.The Lady ‘Cats took their first lead in the fourth when Bennett’s ground out scored Elissa Summar and Mackenzie King followed with an RBI double in the fifth to put Rison up 6-4.Parkers Chapel, however, went ba...
