Rison Begins LMI Survey of Residents

At Tuesday night’s meeting, Mayor Charles Roberts updated the Rison City Council on the ongoing door-to-door Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) survey. The survey aims to push the city back above the 51 percent threshold needed to qualify for expanded grant funding. Additionally, council members were informed they must complete mandatory state wastewater training under Act 605 of 2025, while Utilities Director Gene Norton announced upcoming sewer system "smoke tests" to locate leaks. In other business, Roberts submitted a Delta Regional Authority sewer grant application, set a tentative September 19 date to move an M60 tank to Veterans Park.
