10  YEARS  AGOMARCH  11,  2015Cleveland County was hit with its fourth winter storm since February 16 last Wednesday night and Thursday morning, as some areas of the county reported 3 to 4 inches of sleet and snow. The storm caused schools in the county to dismiss classes Thursday and Friday. After three weeks of snow, sleet and freezing rain and rain all over Cleveland County, Judge Gary Spears reported that roads will be in need of a lot of work.The board of the Cleveland County School District received a pleasant surprise Monday night when it learned that the district will be receiving $100,000 more than it expected after refinancing some of its existing debt at a lower interest rate. In all, the actual savings will total about $240,000.Much of Monday night's three-hour meeting of the Woodlawn School Board revolved around the estimated costs for four proposed projects for the Woodlawn campus: renovating the old music room and the old art room into classroom and storage space, building a new bus barn/shop area, and constructing the new walking/fitness trail.Filmmaker and historian Rob Reep, owner and CEO of Fossil Hound Dog Films, a division of Raptorproductions, has been filming segments of a full-length feature film entitled "Captain" in the Pioneer Village at Rison for the past seven months.
