NORTON PLACES THIRD IN CHESS TOURNAMENT - Woodlawn sophomore, Daniel Norton, participated in the SEARK Cooperative Chess Tournament on Thursday, November 30, where he placed third in the Senior High Division.

Van Sang, a 10th grader at Rison High School was named November student of the month for grades 10-12. Van is the son of Hre Tnang and Sung Hniang. He has three siblings, Elton Lian, David Uk and Helen Hniang.

RISON - On behalf of the Cleveland County School District, Rison Gifted and Talented hosted a luncheon for the school's custodians and maintenance crews. This was in honor of National Custodian Day.

Woodlawn Students Win at Rubik's Cube Competition

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn had some big winners at the SEARK Education Cooperative Rubik's Cubing Competition. They won first place in the team competition, solving 25 cubes in five minutes and 12 seconds.

Christmas Events To Continue; Parade Sees Huge Participation

RISON - Christmas events will continue this week with Santa's annual visit to the New Edinburg Community Center while the Pioneer Village at Rison will be hosting its drivethrough light display. Both events are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday evening.
