Rison Students of the Month

Taylor Murdock, an 8th grader at Rison Middle School, was named February student of the month for grades 7-9. Taylor is the daughter of Nick and Melissa Murdock. She is the granddaughter of Mark and Johnny Radcliff, the late Olen and Esther Murdock, and Eddie Rogers.

JAKES Day Sees Over 350 Youth Attend Event

RISON - Last year's decision to move the Cleveland County JAKES Day event to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison turned out to be a wise one as yet another record-breaking crowd was on hand Saturday to learn about the outdoors.
Those attending the reunion were (front row, left to right) Rita Norwood Duren, Carol Ann Goggans Johnson, Linda Mitchell Jones, JoNell Ammon Chastain; (back row) Kenneth Clements, Jerry Post, Thomas Mitchell, Rayburn Langford and (inset) Margaret Ann Barker Benefield. Those unable to attend were Curtis Kea, Wayne Cates and Nancy May Sisk.

Kingsland Class of 1961 Then and Now

KINGSLAND - One of the classes with the best attendance at Saturday’s Kingsland All School Reunion was the Class of 1961 with nine the 14 class members present. These two photos represent the members now compared to when they were in 8th grade at Kingsland School.

AVERIE SKELTON, an 11th grader at Rison High School was named December student of the month for grades 10-12. Averie is the daughter of Sandy and Scott Miller, and the granddaughter of Clarise and Dale Payne, and Larry Smith. She has five siblings, Sissy, Mackenzie, Shelly, Justin and Josh.
