Conversion Is Difference, as Fordyce Nips Rison, 30-28

FORDYCE - With the game atmosphere at a fever pitch, the Fordyce Redbugs stopped a two-point conversion try by Rison with less than 3 minutes to go in the contest, and then held on to edge the Wildcats, 30-28, in a battle for the top of the 8-3A Conference race last Friday night.
PRODUCTIVE GAME FOR MOORE - Woodlawn quarterback Aden Moore (right) breaks outside of Marvell’s Dimitrius Thompson for a two-point conversion in the Bears’ 64-26 win over Marvell last Friday night. Moore had a productive night on the ground and through the air running for two touchdowns and three two-point conversions while throwing for one TD and one two-point conversion. His teammate, Ethan Adair, also accounted for three touchdowns.

Bears Overcome Slow Start, Blow Out Marvell 64-26

MARVELL - Early on, it looked as though the Woodlawn Bears might be in for another dogfight with the underdog Marvell Mustangs.In their last trip to Marvell two years ago, the Bears were clinging to a 16-12 lead entering the fourth quarter before pulling away late for a 40-20 win.

WOODLAWN - Playoff seedings will be on the line this Friday night when the Woodlawn Bears travel to Brinkley to face the Tigers in a battle for the no. 2 seed from the eight-man South Conference.The junior high teams are scheduled to play at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity teams at 7 p.m.

Junior Wildcats Fall In Season Finale to Fordyce

RISON - The Rison Junior Wildcats suffered a 38-8 loss to Fordyce to end the 2024 season Thursday night at George Walker Field of Champions.The Junior ‘Cats received the opening kickoff, but went 3-and-out to open the game.

Junior Bears Fall at Marvell, 28-14

MARVELL - Woodlawn suffered four turnovers and the Marvell Junior Mustangs utilized their size and speed advantage to knock off the Juniors Bears, 28-14, in an South Conference game Friday at Marvell.

‘Cats Shake Off Beavers for 42-12 Conference Victory

LAKE  VILLAGE - Whether it was Halloween on the horizon, or maybe some homecoming distractions, last Friday night's 8-3A Conference matchup at Beaver Stadium was filled with some of the unusual - a little bit of it all, including fights off the field that scattered fans in the home bleachers.

RISON - While the storied rivalry between the Rison Wildcats and Fordyce Redbugs never needs any extra hype, this year’s battle will have a lot at stake as the two unbeaten teams clash this Friday night will likely determine the 8-3A conference championship. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

AHSCA Decides To End All-Star Games

North Little Rock - The Arkansas High School Coaches Association (AHSCA) executive committee informed the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) board of directors this week that the annual All-Star games will be discontinued.
