Grubb Breaks School Record; 'Cats Fifth in 3A at Weight Meet

RISON - Logan Grubb and Ryan Cottrell both won Class 3A state titles while Steven Shaddock placed second in their respective weight divisions at the Arkansas Weightlifting Championships held May 6 at Lake Hamilton High School.

HORATIO - Going into last week's Class 2A South Region Baseball Tournament at Horatio, Rison Baseball Coach Josh Smeltzer said he felt his Wildcats were probably the second best team from the 8-2A conference. It turned out that he was wrong - the 'Cats were the second best team in the region.

QUITMAN - The Rison Wildcats' 4x100 relay team came within 1/100th of a second of claiming the Class 2A State Champion but came up just short in a photo finish to the Fordyce Redbugs in the Class 2A State Track meet held last Tuesday at Quitman High School.
