WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn High School cheer team has been declared the Academic State Champion for cheerleading among all classifications by the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA).

Carmikle To Evaluate Wildcats' Progress in Tuesday Scrimmage

RISON - Coach Caleb Carmikle will get to see exactly how well his Rison Wildcats have grasped his new offensive and defensive schemes when they travel to Monticello to meet the Class 4A Billies in a scrimmage game at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Billies Stadium.

Carmikle Seeks Consistency As Wildcats Begin Preseason

RISON - New Rison Coach Caleb Carmikle said he has seen some promise both offensively and defensively from his Wildcats over the summer, but there needs be a lot more consistency for them to take the next step to being a "good" football team.
The Woodlawn Bears' defensive line executes a play during their second day of preseason drills on the practice field behind the Carl Jones Sports Complex. Woodlawn is coming off a 9-2 season where the Bears advanced to the Class 2A eight-man state semifinals before falling at Izard County, 62-56, on the last play of the game. Izard County went on to win the state title.

Bears Work Three Quarterbacks During Rose Bud Football Camp

WOODLAWN - All three quarterback prospects got snaps Tuesday when the Woodlawn Bears attended a seven team camp for eight-man football hosted by Rose Bud High School. Woodlawn was the only Class 2A school at the camp while the others were Class 3A teams.

Rison Hosts Team Camp on Thursday

RISON - The Rison Wildcats will be hosting a team camp with Class 4A Lonoke, Clas 4A DeWitt and Class 3A Magnet Cove beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at George Walker Field of Champions, Coach Caleb Carmikle has announced.
PICK MACHINE - Woodlawn junior defensive back Ethan Adair goes up to pull in one of six interceptions he made during Tuesday's 5-on-5 camp at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. Woodlawn had eight picks for the day with Aidan Johnson and Ethan Oliver making the other two.
