Woodlawn Opens Season at Parkers Chapel Friday

WOODLAWN - The Wood‐lawn Bears will be going into their 2022 season opener know‐ing very little about their oppo‐nent. That’s because Parkers Chapel did not exchange tape with Woodlawn of the Trojans’ opener last Thursday against Spring Hill, which won the game 38-22.

Rison Grounds Out 31-12 Season Opening Win at Dumas

DUMAS - Blending their cus‐tomary ground attack with some crucial defensive stops, the Ri‐son Wildcats opened their 2022 football season in convincing fashion last Friday night at Tid‐well Field, spanking the Dumas Bobcats, 31-12.

Lions' Quarterback to Test Wildcats This Friday Night

RISON - After surviving the 30 pass attempts by Dumas quarterback Joseph Jones last Friday night in their season opener, head coach Clay Totty says the Rison Wildcats can probably expect more of the same this week when they go on the road again to face the Bis‐marck Lions of the 4-3A Confer‐ence.

Monticello Answers Late Rison Score to Win Scrimmage, 20-19

RISON - The Rison Wildcats took their first lead with 1:56 left only to see the Class 4A Monti‐cello Billie mount a late come‐back and score with 26 seconds left to come away with a 20-19 victory Tuesday night in a scrimmage matchup at George Walker Field of Champions.

Woodlawn To Hold Black-White Game On Friday, Aug. 26

WOODLAWN - The Wood‐lawn Bears will host a Black-White scrimmage game begin‐ning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the Carl Jones Sports Complex, Coach Zach Meyer has announced. Admission will be a bottle of water or Gatorade or a protein bars.

Wildcats Face Monticello In Scrimmage Tuesday

RISON - Rison Coach Clay Totty will be looking to see how his 2022 Wildcats respond to live game situations this Tues‐day when they host the Class 4A Monticello Billies in a scrim‐mage game scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at George Walker Field of Champions.
