Rison Pee Wee Football Hosting Jamboree Saturday

RISON - The Rison Pee Wee Football Association will be hosting a jamboree this Saturday, Oct. 1, at George Walker Field of Champions, organizers have announced. Rison will hold Pee Wee Homecoming ceremonies at 4 p.m. Games will begin at 9 a.m. with the final game scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Cats Feast on Cardinals’ Miscues for 51-0 Blowout Win

PINE BLUFF - Feasting on a buffet of Dollarway miscues from start to finish, the Rison Wildcats opened their 6-3 A Conference rate with a 51-0 blowout of the Cardinals last Friday night. Since the 'Cats and Cards became league foes in 2018.

Woodlawn Rolls In Re-Match With Parkers Chapel, 44-8

RISON - What a difference having some film on the opponent can make. Woodlawn went into its season opener at Parkers Chapel back on Sept. 2 with nothing more than about 15 seconds of YouTube video to work with. The Bears got down early but battled back for a 42-28 victory over the Trojans.

Woodlawn Opens League Play With State Champion Strong

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn will open eight-man South Conference play this Friday night when the Bears host the defending slate champion Strong Bulldogs in a matchup up at the Carl Jones Sports Complex, The junior high teams are scheduled to kickoff at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity teams at 7 p.m.

Rison Opens 6-3A League Play at Dollarway Friday

RISON - Following a pair of wild down-to-the-wire non-conference victories, then an open date, the Rison Wildcats will return to action Friday night at Pine Bluff, where they will face the Dollarway Cardinals. Kickoff time is scheduled for 7 o'clock. Rison is undefeated; Dollarway is winless.

Jr. Cats Get First Victory at Drew Cent

MONTICELLO - The Rison Junior High Wildcats notched their first victory of the 2022 football season Thursday night of last week, when they routed the Drew Central Junior High Pirates, 32-6, in their 6-3A Conference opener.
