KINGSLAND - Mayor Sharon Crosby announced Tuesday that she and others representing the City of Kingsland were meeting with board members from the West Saline Water Users Association in New Edinburg on Tuesday night, Jan. 10, to discuss a possible merger of the water systems.

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Jan. 20 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

Mt. Olivet To Host Food Bank Jan. 13

CALMER - Mount Olivet Methodist Church at Calmer will have its Food Bank from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, the church has announced. Mount Olivet is located at the Hwy. 63/ Hwy. 114 junction at Calmer. The food bank is held the second Saturday of each month.

USDA Commodities To Be Distributed Jan. 13 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month. The pantry is an equal opportunity distributor.

Cleveland County School Board Will Meet on Jan. 16

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board noted during its December meeting that the January board meeting has been moved to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the administration building in Rison. The board usually meets the second Monday of each month.

Conservation Office Offering Plat Books

RISON - The Cleveland County Conservation District has announced that it now has plat books available for $65. The books can be purchased from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday at the Conservation District Office located next to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds on Mockingbird Street in Rison.
