Clarification: Cleveland County Jail Is Certified

Sheriff Jack Rodgers clarified today (Thursday, Jan. 15) that  the Cleveland County Jail located inside the Joe Paul King Law Enforcement Center at the courthouse complex in Rison is certified by the state.

Woodlawn Accepts Budget for Cafeteria Project

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn School Board approved a “conceptional budget” of a little more than $1.2 million to expand the school cafeteria while giving Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock permission to begin working on plans for a new career education center on the high school campus.

Rally Begins Work on Extending Fiber Optic Network in County

RISON - Rally Networks, the parent company of Cleveland County Telephone, announced this week that the company will soon begin construction to extend its fiber optic internet network beyond its current service areas in Kingsland and Rison.

Pesticide Applicator Training Jan. 27

RISON - The Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Service will be conducting a Pesticide Applicator Training session on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, beginning promptly at 6 p.m.Each participant will be charged a $20 training fee which will go towards training materials.
