USDA Commodities To Be Distributed Sat. at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11. Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month. The pantry is an equal opportunity distributor.

Sheriff Deputies to Get Pay Raise

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court unanimously approved a request by Sheriff Jack Rodgers Monday night to increase deputy pay by about 15 percent to make the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department more competitive with other departments in the region when it comes to hiring officers.

Backwoods Poultry Show Saturday at Fairgrounds

RISON - Entries from as far away as Iowa are expected to be in Backwoods Poultry Show set for this Saturday at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison. The public is invited to attend and admission is free. Gates will open at 9 a.m. and concessions will be available.
