Local Schools Set Graduation Dates

RISON - Rison and Woodlawn High Schools have announced their graduation plans for the Class of 2023. Rison High School will have its graduation ceremony at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at George Walker Field of Champions. Woodlawn High School will hold its graduation ceremony beginning at 7 p.m.

The Cleveland County Sheriff's Department joined law enforcement agencies from Jefferson County as well as the Arkansas State Police Tuesday afternoon to search for a suspect(s) who was believed to be in an area along Hwy. 133 around the Morris Road and Gun Club Road West intersections.

Rison Elementary Monday - spaghetti and meatballs or chicken sandwich. Tuesday - nachos or hamburger. Wednesday - chicken nuggets or beef fingers. Thursday - french toast sticks or mini corndogs. Friday - Pizza, Pizza and Sidekicks!

Danny Jacks Statue Ceremony is June 3

RISON - Carmen Martinez, pictured above, lays brick for the base that will support a plaque recognizing the late Danny Jacks of Rowell at the Cleveland County Veterans Park in Rison. Martinez completed the base last Wednesday, April 19.

Arts & Science Center at PB Presenting 'Last Five Years'

PINE BLUFF - The Arts & Science Center will open ticket sales for its production of "The Last Five Years" on May 1. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, June 22-24, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, in the Adam B. Robinson Jr. Black Box Theater at ART WORKS on Main, 627 S. Main St.

Woodlawn Students Show at Congressional Youth Art Contest

Seven Woodlawn Students entered nine art pieces in the Congressional Youth Art Contest, which was showcased Monday, April 25 at the Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs.

WHS Spanish Club Hosting Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament

LITTLE ROCK - The Woodlawn High School Spanish program along with an Arkansas Community Partnership team will sponsor the 2nd Annual Tristen Daniel Miller Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held May 12 at Eagle Hill Golf Course and Athletic Club in Little Rock.
